The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the European Union’s new data protection legislation and was designed to protect EU citizens from privacy and data breaches. It will go into effect on May 25th and will concern all companies holding or monitoring personal data of subjects residing in the European Union. This has already forced analytics services, such as DeltaDNA, GameAnalytics or GameSparks, to take new necessary measures and will, therefore, also have an impact on game developers.
What is the business impact this new regulation has on the video game industry? How should game developers now collect, move, store, and process personal data for their games? What will the law allow and forbid?
This talk will help you better understand the law and the changes needed to comply with it.
If you wish to send some questions to the presenter before the talk, please send them by email to cynthia@gameplayspace.com in French or in English.
The talk will be given in English but further explanations or answers to questions can be given in French too.
